Permanent makeup, also known as cosmetic tattooing, is a technique that deposits pigment into the upper layer of skin providing a permanent alternative to wearing traditional cosmetics. Permanent makeup can last anywhere from 3-10 years, depending on aftercare and maintenance. Annual maintenance touch-ups are necessary to up-keep the tattoo appearance. Cosmetic tattooing is ideal for someone who does not want the hassle of applying makeup or has sensitive or allergic reactions to traditional cosmetic products.
It is also a good solution for:
• professional athletes
• patients with visual impairments, alopecia, or lost hair due to age or chemotherapy
Results imitate topically applied cosmetics. Every client is unique, therefore the design and amount of pigment used is determined during the consultation to ensure the best possible results. Tattoo pigments will soften after initial application. 2-3 touch ups may be needed for final desired look.
Is it a permanent “Tattoo”?
Unlike traditional tattoos, Permanent makeup/micropigmentation pigments do fade over time. In order to properly tattoo the facial skin, we use pigments which are entirely different than tattoo ink. It’s labeled “permanent” because even though it fades, particles remain in the skin for 1-10 years, depending on the procedure done. Even as the permanent makeup fades & becomes less visible, there will always be particles in the skin. The better you follow the aftercare instructions, the longer it will last.
How long does it take?
Procedure times do vary on what is being done, how much needs to be done, and how the client handles pain. We typically book each procedure for 2.5-3 hours.
Does it hurt?
The areas to be treated are numbed using specialized medical-grade topical anesthetics to make your experience as comfortable as possible. Each person handles pain differently. The areas treated are constantly numbed through the entire process.
Microblading, also known by a variety of names such as embroidery, microstroking, feather touch and 3D brows, is a form of permanent makeup; but unlike traditional cosmetic tattooing, it is less invasive and is considered semi-permanent. Microblading typically lasts 1-3 years, depending on skin type and skincare routine. The procedure is done by using a hand tool with ultra fine needles and each ‘hair’ is gently etched into the skin, giving an incredibly natural and realistic look.
Microblading can dramatically correct or fully reconstruct lost eyebrow and is excellent for those wanting to enhance their brows or who have little to no eyebrows, thinning brows from age or over tweezed brows. Pigments used are chosen to match the natural or desired brow color and skin tone will also be taken into consideration.
